The last night dinner was very unfulfilling. First I had to spend the night at my friend Zack’s place and I had to sleep on a bunk bed. And we had planned to stay in for dinner, so that meant either cooking ourselves, which was out of question, or calling the home delivery service. We ordered two pizzas and Chinese food, which were not that great. We also had some beer to go with that. The pizzas were below expectation but as long as it was digestible we were quite happy. I didn’t eat much of the Chinese food as I am not a big fan of it, but they were okay last night. So it was a typical dinner for me.

When the days turn cold, people pull out their coats and sweaters wth the hopes of staying warm. Many of these same people have dogs. While dogs have fur designed to keep them warm, they will only stay warm to a certain temperature and then they too get cold. That is why a dog sweater is beneficial for dogs. Dog sweaters keep dogs warm when their fur no longer can. Many people feel that dog sweaters are stupid and look silly but they don’t realize that dogs get cold too. So, while a dog may look silly in a dog sweater, the benefits of putting man’s best friend in a sweater to prevent them from getting cold outweigh the cons of looking silly. Plus, dog sweaters come in really cool colors and patterns. Dogs are man’s best friend, so wouldn’t you want to make your best friend happy and keep them warm at the same time?

It is not easy to find dog collars small enough to fit a 1.3 pound Chihuahua.  I recently got a Chi puppy for my 30th birthday and was eager to find a cute collar for her.  Target had some cute collars, but they were all too big.  After some searching, I found one at a local shop called “Puppy Love”.  There were many to choose from.  From beaded collars that looked more like necklaces to studded dog collars that looked like they belonged to Rex, they had it all.  The collar I chose is six inches, pink, and has a bejeweled crown embellishment on it.  Perfect for my new little love!  The people at the shop were very nice.  They carry everything from carriers, outfits and treats to cool accessories for big dogs too.  Shopping for my new dog’s collar was a challenge, but fun and exciting.

Living in Iowa is what everybody should experience once in their lifetime, and they will probably decide to stay. There are distinct seasons in Iowa because our weather changes as the calendar does. As they say, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait!” People in Iowa are friendlier and very dedicated to their work, family, and church. If you want to live in a big city, we have a few; or if you want to live in a suburb or small community, we have those too. Many concerts, stage shows, etc. come routinely to the state and you don’t have to fight the traffic to attend them. Schools in Iowa are among the best in the nation as proven by testing, and our three state universities are well known throughout the country. Our health care system is probably one of the best in the country. My title “Heaven in Iowa” really tells the whole story.
