For those of us too out of shape for the real thing. I used to play football in high school. I got severely injured and haven’t set foot on a gridiron since. I thought the joy of football I felt would only come from cheering on my favorite teams. Then I discovered the glory that is fantasy football. I love stealing sleepers during the draft. I revel in annihilating my opponents on the scoreboard. I enjoy trash talking with my opponents in the league. It’s easy, it won’t wear you out and the only people that get ACL tears can afford it.

Not too long ago I purchased a set of dog clothes from a local pet store. I own a miniature dachshund so naturally I purchased a hot dog as a set of xxs dog clothes. She now looks like a wiener dog that has a bun on either side or the costume included a foam representation of ketchup that you can attach on the back of the dog. She now looks like a plump walking hot dog. We even took her out for Halloween with the costume on and we received many compliments from passers by about the outfit. We all laugh a lot due to the costume because our dog looks extremely funny. We all love the costume.

Last night’s dinner was a gourmet’s delight. Which restaurant did I eat at? None, I made it at home. With the economy being what it is, everyone is trying to save money one way or another. One of the things that I have been doing in order to save money is fixing our meals at home. It’s not that hard and usually the end result tastes much better than what you would have eaten in any restaurant. Last night, I had a gourmet pizza. I have to admit that I did cheat on the crust. I bought one of those ready-made crusts that come in a tube. You will find them in the refrigerated section of your grocery store along with the biscuits, rolls, and pie crusts. I put strips of red pepper, garlic cloves, and halved grape tomatoes in a baking dish and tossed them in olive oil. Then I roasted them in the oven at 375 for about 25 minutes. I also sautéed the Italian sausage in a pan. Then I simply pressed the dough out on a baking pan, brushed the crust with olive oil, then pizza sauce, topped it with the peppers, garlic, tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, sliced black olives, cheddar-jack cheese, and mozzarella cheese and baked it for 15 minutes at 400. The pizza was paired with a bottle of valpolicella wine. It was awesome!

Many families want dogs. The appeal is with the companionship and the unconditional love offered by a dog. Dogs are a great way for kids to learn responsibility and a great way for adults to relieve stress. Many families face the question of what kind of dog is best for us. The answer is not a simple one. If a family is considering owning a dog the need to do some research about the breeds and the environment the dog is in. Homes, personalities, surroundings, age level, and noise level are things to be considered. If the family has an indoor dog gate they may choose a breed that wants to be outside. If the family plans to keep the dogs inside they will want to choose a dog that is comfortable being inside the majority of the day. There are many breeds, mixes, and ages of dogs available and research should be done to ensure the dog is exactly what the entire family wants and can handle.
