My favorite class in high school had to be my drafting class.  I only took drafting one year, but I learned so much about measurements, conversions, perspective, and precision.  I loved the using the drafting table and T-square.  Even the exercises for learning how to use the tools were fun.  Creating “three-dimensional” letters to represent my name was the first exercise I recall.  By the end of the year, I got to design my own house and then build a replica of it (like Mike Brady in The Brady Bunch).  I cut myself with a mat knife while I was creating my house—and fainted for the first time in the life.  While fainting wasn’t much fun, drafting was one of the best classes ever.

My favorite animal is the dog, especially my dog.  While I like cats and horses and rabbits and fainting goats, dogs are simply the best pet.  Cats are nice companions, generally tidy and self-cleaning, warm to sleep with. Dogs take a little more work, but they are there when you need them.  How many times has my dog sensed my anxiety and frustration and come to sit by me, resting her head on my knee or foot as if to say, “Don’t worry.  It will be OK.  I still love you.”  Dogs have an amazing zest for life.  Although my dog eats the same food every day, she still prances in front of her food dish like I’m serving her a five course gourmet meal.  Dogs are just the best.

Dogs are my favorite animals because they are so cute and lovely. I especially love Golden Retrievers due to their color and also their loyalty. When all your friends have deserted you, you know that your dog will be there by your side to support you and all your needs. If you need a loyal friend or someone that will just listen, you know that you can count on your dog. The only downside is that dogs have a very short life span compared to humans. But you have to love them anyway for their kind caring nature. For animal lovers, dogs are a must.
