Fun, Alone or With Friends

Fun takes a lot of different forms for me. Mainly I like heading out to a bar, concert, opera, or show with friends. I enjoy a good drink, good music, and most of all the company of people I actually like spending time with. Occasionally, as social as I am, I’ll prefer to be by myself, in which case fun will take the form of reading a new book or catching whatever Netflix I happen to have at the moment. I am a musician by trade, so music is fun for me, though one of the most fun things for me is taking out the instrument that I don’t use so much at work-my violin.
Shopping Around
By admin
I like to shop where I can find the best deals. For certain things, like clothing and shoes, I have very particular tastes, and will opt for spending more on higher quality items and buying fewer of them or buying them less frequently than searching out bargains. (Of course, finding bargains on high quality items is best of all, so I of course love outlets!). For most things, however, I will haunt the aisles of Target or Ikea. I find that in these stores, or places like them, I can find precisely what I need at a price that is even shockingly low for a bargain hunter like me.
The Merits of Winter
By admin
I love winter. Though autumn is probably my favorite season of the whole year, winter is definitely right up there. This may be an unconventional answer from a New Englander, but there is something about winter that is just exciting. Heading out into the bracing cold, having to plan out the seven layers you’re going to need to wear, it affects the very way you look at the world in some small measure. Not to mention that winter is the time when the snow falls, and I can think of few things more beautiful than a city blanketed in snow. It may not stay pretty for long, but for those first few hours, it’s breathtaking.

A Hopeful Day
By admin
My day is going pretty well at the moment. Days aren’t always great right now, given all the troubles with the economy and a pretty rough job search for me personally. But it’s good to be able to look outside and see the sun shining and the clouds clearing away. It makes me appreciate the things I am fortunate enough to have, in spite of my troubles, and gives me hope that things are looking up. It’s a reminder to keep taking things day by day and not get hung up on next week’s troubles, because, after all, what are you really going to be able to do about them before next week?
