The United States

The United States is a great country, its just some of the things get me wondering if they were well thought through. Something that picks at me is the fact that; you can have sex at 17, watch rated r movies, go to war, drive from the age of 16, have children, quit school, get a job, go to jail, be sentence to death, but you cant buy a can of spray paint until the age of 18!? What is wrong with that picture? The drinking age is also something that bothers me greatly. The government doesn’t understand that it isn’t a good idea, people who drive from the age of 16 for five years till the age of 21. The day they turn 21 they think they’re invincible and have no idea of the effects of alcohol. They get behind the wheel and get in a accident. Sometimes things need to be thought through, what happen to the country being a democracy? Let the people decide for themselves.
Bill Contemplates One of Them New Fangled Dog Ramps
By admin
My friend Bill has an old midnight blue ‘66 Chevy pick-up. On any given evening, you can see Bill heading down some country road with his faithful friend Towser, a German shepherd mix, riding in the box, sticking his head into the wind. Loading Towser into the back of the pick-up has never been a problem. As soon as Bill plops the end gate down, Towser expertly springs up and settles in for the ride. Towser is a fairly big dog, weighing in at about 85 pounds. He’s also getting on in year, and recently, has been developing a touch of arthritis. One day Bill and I were shooting the breeze on a country road. He was coming from one direction in his ‘66, and I was heading in the other. We saw each other and stopped for a chat, forearms leaning out our driver’s side windows. Bill mentioned that Towser was beginning to have trouble jumping into the pick-up box. Bill himself is no longer exactly a spring chicken either, and he said if it ever came to him having to lift Towser into the box, well, that wouldn’t be so easy. I said: “You know, they sell those dog ramps now. I saw one at the pet store at the mall.” Bill looked surprised. “Dog ramp!” he said, lifting his eyebrows. “Why can’t you just get an old 8-by-10 board? Be as good as that, and I got some laying around the yard.” “That would probably work,” I told Bill. “But a dog ramp has a surface with better traction and also has a lip that will catch on the edge of the tailgate. It makes it nice and easy for a dog to walk up an down. You should get indoor dog ramps.” Bill got a funny look on his face. He rubbed the three-day stubble on his chin. Finally he said, “Dog ramp, you say. I guess they sell just about anything these days.” “I guess,” I answered. “Well, see ya later,” he said. “Yeah, see ya later, Bill.”
Bigger is Better!

Texas is a very unique state, the slogan “ bigger is better in Texas” is often used for many things. Another one “don’t mess with Texas” tells you a little bit about how it might be as a state. Texas is a very conservative state. People here don’t usually like change for the most part. Everything is very spread out, we don’t have very many tall buildings. The temperature here can get very hot, its October now and the temperature still get up to 85 degrees. The nights get a little cooler, but Texas is known for the unbearable heat.
