Artist when Idle

By admin

It never fails.  When I am bored, usually in meetings or when I’m waiting for an overdue appointment, I start to doodle on paper.  Meeting minutes and my notepad are often bedecked with nonsensical cartoonish drawings culled from the dark recesses of my strange and dangerous imagination.  Spaceships, the faces of people I don’t know, a pathetic attempt to duplicate a work by Van Gogh or M.C. Eisher, and Mickey Mouse holding a sword and chasing tourists from the Disneyland gate.  One day I shall frame these works and, perhaps when I am gone they will be worth something.  Realistically, they probably won’t, but I guess I can dream… and draw it when things get dull.
