I am a man and I love lighthouses.  It’s a contradiction.  I’m not sure why, but I’ve been fascinated by them and I’ve always wanted to live in one and so, if I could change one thing about my home without worrying about the cost, mess, or what my wife would do to me when she found out, I would construct a third story lighthouse turret room complete with wraparound balcony and office.  This room would be the envy of the neighborhood and break untold housing association rules, but it would be quite all right because I would be standing on that balcony, suave and sophisticated in my captain’s hat, looking down upon my jealous neighbors who will be absolutely green with envy.
